| We are just in the middle of defining the tool for the larger rollout in September and so there is lots to do. Two of the team members have just presented at the ‘Student Voice’ conference and am now wondering how and if this can be brought into the project. The potential for students to help inform the curriculum is fantastic and this could really enhance the project. If anyone has any ideas let us know! |

| We are currently at our second programme meeting and this time it is being hosted in the very sunny Birmingham. The meeting is focused on change, stakeholders and transformation and has been an excellent day. We have really began to think about how we can measure the changes as a consequence of our project and when these changes may happen. Through reverse brain-storming we have looked at models for change and how to apply these to our stakeholders. Some interesting techniques were discussed from bribery to showing respect and aligning goals. It has been an excellent day and good to see everyone again. It has been interesting to see how the projects have developed and the excitement about the work. Right, time for a gin. |

| Despite the rain we had an excellent second day. We started off talking about stakeholders and how we identified these and then worked to win their ‘Hearts & Minds’. An interesting conversation followed about the evolution of stakeholders and that the priority changes throughout the project as well as the strategies to ensure engagement. Useful ideas were aired and a tips shared! Following morning coffee we the broke out in to smaller groups and put pen to paper about how we wanted to use the CAMEL meetings to help develop our work. There are excellent links between all the projects and we all agreed we want to ensure we get the most out of these. We agreed that the next meeting would be in London around September. In summary, it was an excellent two days, very well organised (thanks Gus!!) and looking forward to the next one. |

| We have just finished the first day of our CAMEL meeting and it has been extremely useful. We all spoke about what we hoped to achieve from the process and then gave a 15 minute presentation on our own projects. Following afternoon tea, we then spoke about the student experience and Web 2.0 technologies. This evening we had a rather nice supper and got to network in an informal setting. The links between the projects are become more apparent and the potential for us all to work together for mutual benefits is very exciting. Another series of sessions tomorrow which look to focus around engagement. |

| We are in a CAMEL cluster group together with the Universities of Exeter, Bristol and Hertfordshire. Our first meeting takes place in Bristol this Thursday and Friday, 7th and 8th of May. The main topic of the meeting is ‘Winning hearts and minds’ i.e. how to get stakeholders to ‘buy in’ to the project (without offering them shed loads of cash:-))

| At the project steering group meeting the team presented the much more detailed evaluation plan that had been put together with the help of Alison uirhead (external consultant provied by the JISC). The plan had already proven its worth in helping the team to ‘rapidly’ put together a questionnaire to go to students involved in the pilot of eReflect. The team also has special meeting (in addition to the regular project team meetings) solely to discuss evaluation (highlighting the significance placed on this aspect of the project) and its progress on the 1st May at which a number of current and future actions were clarified.

| The second meeting of the Project Steering Group, chaired by the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Learning & Teaching, took place on the 24th April. This turned out to be a very useful meeting to the project team as we had been slightly disappointed by the relatively (to date) low participation rate by students in eReflect. Just like the Teaching and Learning Forum meeting however there were several good ideas generated around the debate of how to get students more engaged.Central to the whole way forward was the encouraging commitment by the senior staff, and especially the Dean of Biosciences, who outlined the several ways in which she was ensuring that eReflect became embedded across the undergraduate programme by including it for example in the School strategic plan and in staff workload deliberations.

<h3></h3><tr><td><font size=”2″><font face=”verdana,sans-serif”>Three of the project team gave a presentation on eReflect at a University Teaching and Learning Forum meeting. Attended by 14 staff from across the University there was a lively debate about how best to obtain student engagement with their feedback. Several ideas will be considered by the project team for future action.

| We have now started to review some of the data we collected as part of the pilot and baseline studies. The results are interesting and going to form part of our first paper currently being written for the 4th International Blended Learning Conference. Watch this space! |

| As well and running the pilot we have also started working on both internal and external dissemination. Yesterday we hosted an informal event open to all staff to talk about the project, pilot and start the process of integrating all staff into the process. The official tool goes live in October and so we all feel it is import to provide a gentle lead-in to ensure that all staff are comfortable with the process. The event was very well attended and exciting discussions followed. We are all looking forward to the next one. |
